Photographing Millennium Park, Chicago from above!

In Architecture,Chicago Architecture,Exteriors,IL by cgonsalv / October 30, 2015 / 0 Comments

Thanks to the Open House Chicago event organized by the Chicago Architecture Foundation I had the opportunity to go up to the 71st floor of the AON Center. The bonanza of views from this building rival that from the Hancock building or the Willis Tower. Enjoy the images below. I wish I had a lenskirt with me to prevent window reflections.

In Architecture,IL,Interiors,Lisle by cgonsalv / July 11, 2015 / 0 Comments

This spring I had the pleasure of photographing the Navistar lobby in Lisle, Illinois. Being a resident of Naperville, I’ve driven past this building so many times and always wanted to capture the amazing lines created by the struts.

Photographing Naper Settlement in Naperville in the winter

In Architecture,Educational,Exteriors,IL,Naperville by cgonsalv / November 29, 2014 / 0 Comments

Today I had a great time visiting the Naper Settlement in Naperville, since I had all to myself. I have visited this Naperville historical landmark a few times before in warmer weather, but was curious to see what kind of shots I could get in the winter.  FYI – During the winter season the village building interiors are closed to the public. However, there’s still a plethora of options to shoot.

View of Chicago Skyline from the Adler Planetarium

This Summer (2013) I decided to play tourist in my own backyard and really explore what Chicago has to offer architecturally. So in the next few months I plan on photographing notable architectural locations in Chicago. I will be sharing my experiences, providing time-saving tips for best views and things to look for at each location.
